We are very proud to be the first in Groningen to carry on this honourable tradition. Our mission is to create an appealing culture for interesting people to develop themselves. In 2009 we plan to become a official club.

Who are we?
Toastmasters Groningen is a Toastmasters club for English speakers. It is a soon-to-be chartered member of the worldwide Toastmasters Organization.
Toastmasters is a non-profit training and educational organization with the objective to enhance its members’ communication, leadership, training and management skills. Toastmasters is the largest and most successful organization of this type in the world with approximately 200,000 members in over 10,000 clubs in 80 countries.

Speeches in English
Both native English speakers as well as individuals with a reasonable command of the English language are invited to participate. For non-native English speakers, this is a way to gain confidence in giving speeches in a foreign language as well as a means to improve on presentation and leadership techniques. Native speakers will generally purely focus on perfecting presentation and management skills.

Supporting your peers
Toastmasters does not provide paid trainers, teachers or managers but is based on peers who support you on your road to better communication. However, Toastmaster members are often from the business or educational field with experience and a need to improve on communication and management skills. It is the club's members who share experiences, skills and provide support to those who practice speeches by evaluating and providing honest but also motivating feedback. This is all done in a familiar and friendly setting.

If you think that this might be something for you, then please consider yourself invited as a guest! You won't be asked for any euros nor asked to hold any speeches; all you need to do is turn up.   

 

Our meetings start at 19.30, the best is if guests come around 19.00 - 19.15.
