Welcome to the Toastmasters Club in Enschede. We are committed to helping each other overcome one of the top fears shared by every human: public speaking. Toastmasters believes in cultivating a friendly learning environment that helps people to develop their communication and leadership skills.
What is your personal goal? Do you want to be a great speaker, professional trainer, or rather a leader? For over 85 years Toastmasters provides a program for success. About Toastmasters International
Toastmasters International is a nonprofit organization governed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership. The first Toastmasters club was established on October 22, 1924, in Santa Ana, California, by Ralph C. Smedley, who conceived and developed the idea of helping others to speak more effectively. More clubs were formed, and Toastmasters International was incorporated under California law on December 19, 1932. The organization now has 211,000 members in 10,500 clubs in 90 countries. Toastmasters International’s World Headquarters is located in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. Its 70-member staff provides support services, educational materials, a monthly magazine, and an interactive Web site.
About Toastmasters Netherlands
Since 2001, Toastmasters clubs have been active in the Netherlands and new clubs are starting every year. These clubs give members the opportunity to practice public speaking and impromptu speaking as well as leadership skills in a supportive and friendly environment. For the last 4 years the Netherlands has had 3 winners at annual European level of Speech contests including this year. In 2009, toastmasters has arrived to Enschede.
